What can be fixed?

The HiJackThis Logs // Malware Removal Forum is dedicated to helping all users remove malware from their PCs. Malware is a general term which is used to describe any type of software that can cause damage to your system (virus, worm, Trojan, etc).

S.M.A.R.T. Members

Scanning your computer is a multi-step process that the trained security professionals, all members of the S.M.A.R.T (Spyware, Malware, Adware Removal Team), will be able to help you with. All S.M.A.R.T. members go through a rigorous training process before they begin working on people’s PCs. They also stay up-to-date with current malware fighting trends so they will always know the best methods for fighting any malware.

The Cleaning Process

HiJackThis is the first tool that that S.M.A.R.T. members will have you use. This tool, developed by Merijn, gives a snapshot of the system's registry, focusing on areas having to do with computer start up and web browsing.

Note:
HiJackThis is just one of the programs that will aid the S.M.A.R.T members in fixing your PC. During the process you may be asked to use more software so that the members of S.M.A.R.T. will be able to better determine exactly what needs to be done to your computer. Any software you might download will be free.

Once you have downloaded HiJackThis and created your log; you then post the log into the HiJackThis Logs // Malware Removal Forum, using the guidelines outlined in this post.

Warning:
It is very important that you do not try to fix any problems using HiJackThis yourself. You can cause more damage to your system if you use HiJackThis incorrectly. Please only act on advice given to you by an official S.M.A.R.T. member.

Once your log is posted, one S.M.A.R.T member will dedicate their time on a one-to-one basis to specifically solve your problem until there are no longer any malicious files left on your computer, since every infection is different due to the unique configuration of each PC. This is the most thorough way to make sure that you have eliminated all traces of any problem. Once your PC has been cleaned they will also give you advice on how to keep your system clean to avoid future infections.
