SecEx is a network file manager and secure terminal emulator that allows encrypted file transfer between your PC and network servers running Secure Shell. SecEx interoperates with either SSH1 or SSH2 servers on both Unix and Windows operating systems. You can transfer files to and from remote servers, view remote files, and execute remote files on your local PC - using encryption. SecEx automatically detects available carrier protocols available on server systems. Newer SSH servers tend to make SFTP (Secure FTP) available while older secure shell implementations feature SCP ( Secure Copy Program). SecEx also shields against IP and DNS spoofing by recording a server's public host key. During subsequent connection attempts, the known host key is compared to the host key offered by the server.

Role Enforcer implements EmpowerID's Role-Based Entitlement Management platform with system and resource agnostic modules to discover, administer, audit, and enforce a single role-based authorization model across different enterprise systems regardless of the technology. EmpowerID's RBAC system automates the granting of application and resource access based upon a person's job function and where they work within an organization. As these changes, unneeded access is removed and new access granted without requiring manual administrative intervention. This "state management" by policy for entitlements prevents the accumulation of privileges over time that can lead to disastrous security breaches.
Role Enforcer modules extend this management by policy to inventory, discover, and manage permissions for specific types of protected enterprise resources. Each system typically has its own idiosyncratic security model and a set of security user interfaces. Role Enforcer bypasses the need to learn this model and use these interfaces by centralizing security on the shared role-based model and translating the results into a format that the system understands and can implement. Many systems can communication with EmpowerID in real-time for external authorization but EmpowerID also supports traditional systems upon which the policies and rules must be translated and pushed down.

ThreatSentry
Listing updated: January 18, 2006
ThreatSentry is a Host Intrusion Prevention software application (HIPS), designed to protect Windows Web servers running Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS). ThreatSentry is comprised of two components. The first is an Application Firewall, pre-configured with a knowledgebase of known exploitive techniques and attack characteristics. Administrators can establish explicit guidelines for permissible and/or denied activity. The application firewall is coupled with a neural-based Behavioral Engine that organizes server requests into a multi-dimensional baseline of typical system activity. Each server connection is scrutinized by the rule-set configured in the application firewall and the behavioral baseline to identify and take action against any activity falling outside trusted parameters. ThreatSentry’s intrusion prevention capabilities progressively improve as the baseline evolves automatically or based on input from the system administrator.
